This coming week’s weather outlook looks very warm and mostly dry, though some scattered showers may arrive in the Boston area early in the week.
The National Weather Service’s Boston Bureau predicts a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. on Monday, with partly sunny skies and a high near 78.
There’s a chance for thunderstorms Monday evening, trickling into Tuesday, which will see a high of about 74. Wednesday will cool off a bit, with a high near 68, and wind gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 71. Friday will inch up to a high of about 80 degrees, with no precipitation in sight.
Looking ahead, AccuWeather Boston forecasts a mostly warm and dry weekend, with highs in the mid-80s on Saturday, and highs in the upper 70s next Sunday.
The welcome May weather comes after Massachusetts touched a record-high temp set in 1879. According to NWS Eastern Region’s Twitter account, Boston reached 86 degrees on Saturday, May 14; the last time the temperature reached that height on that date was in 1879.
