Tap into your inner sugar maker

The Boston Nature Center hosts a maple tap and nature walk.

Take a stab at collecting sap from a Sugar Maple.

Something fun is on tap at the Boston Nature Center and Wildlife Sanctuary. Join experts as they tap, collect, and boil down sap from the maple trees found around the Mattapan expanse. You can even try your hand at tapping the tree and enjoy some fresh sap, as you learn about the different techniques and equipment used across New England and why Sugar Maples are so unique. A perfect outdoor activity for kids over the age of five, explore the trails during a self-guided story book walk and scavenger hunt. Follow it all up with a tasty maple treat.

Groups are limited to 25 pre-registered children and adults. This program is free if you are a member of Dot Rx.
