Fox News Broke the Rule About Running Exit Poll Results

Fox News decided to jump the gun on Tuesday night, running exit poll numbers from New Hampshire just after 6 p.m., nearly two hours before polls closed in the Granite State.

Vox called out the right-leaning news outlet on the election party foul, noting that the National Election Pool (the media group that runs exit polls) allows outlets to report demographic information, but not results, until polls officially close.

So Fox didn’t break the law. But they did break the rules for media groups that get exit polls.
