Row 34, the award-winning oyster bar from celebrated restaurateurs Jeremy Sewall and Shore Gregory, will expand its footprint this fall with a new outpost in Cambridge’s Kendall Square at 314 Main St.

This will be the restaurant’s fourth location.

The seafood-centric restaurant originally debuted in Fort Point in late 2013, drawing national praise as one of GQ’s 25 Best New Restaurants in America and a nominee for Bon Appetit‘s “The Hot 10: America’s Best New Restaurants” list. In 2015, Row 34 expanded to Portsmouth, N.H., and in 2021, Sewall and Gregory opened a third location at The District in Burlington.

Known for its fresh oysters and exemplary beer list, Row 34 diners have come to rely on the restaurant for dazzling shellfish towers, griddled crab cakes, fish tacos, and a fan-favorite lobster roll. For more of-the-land items, the restaurant offers a burger, roasted chicken, and chicken parm, depending on the season.

When the Kendall Square location debuts in the fall, it will eventually offer lunch and dinner, seven days a week. The newcomer will also offer a private events program that will “cater to the ever-growing needs of the Kendall Square community,” according to a press release.

In October, Sewall released The Row 34 Cookbook: Stories and Recipes from a Neighborhood Oyster Bar.
