The Greater Boston area has no shortage of holiday-themed live events this year and between all the observances, performances, and lightings, this holiday season feels closer to normal than we’ve had in close to two years.

Experts continue to urge anyone eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shot, especially as we learn more about how the new omicron variant will impact pandemic recovery plans.

But with vaccination rates up and boosters now available to all adults in Massachusetts, we’re returning (somewhat cautiously) to our holiday travel, parties, and of course, our favorite seasonal live events.

Holiday shows are back on in Greater Boston, with everything from “The Nutcracker” at the Opera House to a Hanukkah concert at City Winery. And as exciting as it is to try out new events before the end of the season, for many of us the best part about this time of year are the events that have become a holiday tradition.

The pandemic forced many of our favorite traditions to be put on hold. Now that they’re back up and running, there’s an extra bit of magic this holiday season.

Is there a Christmas lighting, theater production, or concert that brings back warm memories of holiday seasons past whenever you go? Have you been holding out hope for the return of any local events? We want to know what holiday happenings make the top of the list for our readers. Let us know what live holiday events or shows you’re most excited about by filling out the survey below or e-mailing us at [email protected] and we may feature your response in a future article.
